World-Betraying Knife Visage

Keywords: Native, Overdrive
Prerequisite Charms: None
The face the Abyssal wears is but a hollow mask for the thing that lurks beneath, a hungry creature of Oblivion. Those foolish enough to love his cosmetic shell are doing nothing but keeping themselves in easy reach. This Charm provides the Abyssal with an Overdrive pool capable of holding ten motes. The Exalt gains one offensive mote on any action that he has attacked a character with a positive intimacy toward him, or toward a character he is impersonating through Face-Drinking Bite. If his attack is successful, he gains an additional offensive mote. If his target is aware that the Abyssal is not actually the character they are impersonating, the number of motes he gains is reduced by one. Characters that have applied a supernaturally-enforced oath, obligation or debt on the Abyssal (such as through the Eclipse anima power, or Verdant Emptiness Endowment) are treated as having a positive intimacy toward him.
The Abyssal treats mental influence intended to erode positive intimacies directed toward himself or a character he is currently impersonating through Face-Drinking Bite as an “attack” for this purpose, and may spend offensive motes to fuel such mental influence. Social Charms paid for entirely with offensive motes are not treated as Charm-activations, as described in the Overdrive keyword.
