The Abyssal’s enemies can make for him, or make for death. Too late do the valorous realize that these destinations are one-and-the-same. This Charm grants the Abyssal an empty Overdrive pool with a capacity of ten motes. The Abyssal gains one offensive mote whenever he is in combat with more than one enemy, and makes a ranged attack against an enemy other than the one closest to him.

This gain is increased by one mote if the Abyssal is within the engagement range of at least one enemy that he can target, or if the Abyssal’s target attacked against him in their last action. These gains stack, but if the target of the Abyssal’s attack was an extra, the number of offensive motes he gains is reduced by two (to a minimum of zero offensive motes). The Abyssal cannot gain offensive motes from a single target in this way more than once each action, and cannot gain more than ten offensive motes per action in this way.

Whenever the Abyssal kills a target in a manner that would grant him offensive motes through this Charm, he may choose to costlessly make it Obvious to anyone who witnessed that character’s demise that he is empowered by those who do not advance toward him.
