The first move against Shatterer of the Way was to arrange an audience for The Ambassador of Onrushing Shadows, after which the Ambassador confronted the nemissary Shatterer sent to follow him. Using the ghost the group staged an ambush in Creation, using the illusion of a pending meeting between the ambassador and agents of the Silver Prince as bait. After driving the nephwracks away, the group was able to slay Shatter of the Way. But as he died the ancient pyramid of the City of Flowers was torn asunder, leaving a crater and the stink of Oblivion.

Shortly after the death of The Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea, the circle was approached by the new captain of the Hope Unchained; the Eclipse caste solar Tya Lyari. As the last request of Fallen Wolf, she offered the circle a ship and a crew if they could demonstrate that they too sought the independence of the Abyssals from the Deathlords. And to that end she requested the death of Shatterer of the Way, the Abyssal servant of The First and Forsaken Lion currently of the City of Dead Flowers. The circle agreed.

Returning to Creation and the suspected members of the crew of The Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea, The Ambassador of Onrushing Shadows spun a tale of assassination, allowing Invisible Crow to follow the messenger to Fallen Wolf. Unfortunately, Invisible Crow miscalculated the allegiance of the shadow assassins that were also present and was captured by Fallen Wolf and his solar Tya companion. Upon Crow revealing the location of his companions, Fallen Wolf sent them a missive and the right hand of Crow. In exchange for agreeing to meet them outside of the city, he only asked that the funeral not be disrupted. True to his word, at sunrise he spoke with the circle before ending his life.

Through the serial killer the group determined that it was likely agents of the Silver Prince that were holding the secret shadowland. And when Dawning Snow did not come to meet them, they went to her. Her message was simple: we are declaring our independence from the Deathlords and that they should leave. After learning what they could and planting a seed of doubt, the abyssals left only to be confronted by another; Below the Raging Sol. His message was simple: leave The Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea alone because he was learning the secrets of the solars that the Silver Prince would in turn take from him by force. In exchange for leaving the abyssal alone he offered the location of the Abjuration of the Maidens sorcery and the name of the solar maintaining it: Advocate of the Radiant Conduit.

While the social efforts of the Ambassador of Onrushing Shadows turned up some intriguing potential, it didn’t yield any hard answers. Deciding to apply more manpower to the effort, the next morning all four of the abyssals entered the city to investigate. Of particular note was Night River Hunter catching site of Prince Josei and Apostle of Silent Eternity learning that The Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea spent some time closing small shadowlands and that he missed one that was now being guarded. Upon gathering again it was decided to summon both the ghost of the serial killer responsible for the secret shadowland and reach out to Dawning Snow; offering their assistance.

Though their meeting on The River of Queens was intense, the two groups of Abyssals agree to combine their efforts to apprehend The Fallen Wolf of the Cutting Sea. Their numbers expand again when they find the Apostle of Silent Eternity waiting for them on the shores of the Thousand Dragons Lake. Leaving the waterways behind they continue on to their destination, learning that a huge amount of construction has been occurring at the Jade Plum Citadel, and not all of it can be explained by the preparations for the funeral of Dawning Snow. Their goal became significantly more complicated though when the charms and artifacts of Invisible Crow failed him as he passed through the gates of the city. After retreating, and requiring a different approach, The Ambassador of Onrushing Shadows enters the city alone and manages to make contact with what could be part of the crew of the Fallen Wolf.

In the City of the Steel Lotus, Night River Hunter and Invisible Crow visit the remaining nephwracks at the dead heart of the city. Through the whispers of their masters and the ravings of a madman they learn that they must travel to the Jade Plum Citadel to find their prey. Meanwhile, at Adorned with Wisdom as a Sapphire, The Ambassador of Onrushing Shadows uses some of the local academic resources to further investigate the Golden Lord and the Pale Mistress. What he determines is that not only are their likely to be local goddesses with parallels to the maidens, but theories that these deities are children of the incarnae have been suppressed. He also hears of a pair of Abyssals travelling up The River of Queens and ensures a meeting with them.
